LONDON PALLADIUM

designed by architect Frank matcham, the london palladium is a grade ii* listed building located in soho.

fOR THIS PIECE, I DECIDED TO DO THE STREET WHERE THE LONDON PALLADIUM IS LOCATED. THIS PAINTING WAS A GOOD EXERCISE FOR PAINTING SHADOWS SINCE THE SHAPES THEY CAST ARE MORE COMPLICATED - i WANTED TO ACHIEVE DIFFERENT SHADES DEPENDING ON WHERE THE LIGHT HITS IT. Overall, it gives the painting more dimension and breaks up the large mass of the theatre.
