this painting captures st james’ church in marylebone from spanish place. it is an english gothic church with a grade ii* listing. I wanted to try something different to my usual elevations - St James’ church in marylebone is an ornate and detailed building so capturing its essence was important. I decided its grandeur could be appreciated from another perspective, hidden from a quiet street in london.
